Name:
Kara Palamas (Agent 33)
Canon: MCU/Agents of SHIELD
Canon Point: S02E22
Sex/Gender: Female
Actual Age/Apparent Age: 29 (birth: June 28th 1985)

Belongings:
Just a photostatic veil that she has stuck to her face. While in the library her face will always look burned because the mask won't work. Outside of the Library and through portals she can blink twice and reprogram the mask to take on other people's faces.

Other things on her, besides standard clothing? A pair of guns, a knife, and a small necklace from Ward. Otherwise nothing special.

Skills and Powers:
Kara has a Photostatic Viel burned to her face. It is a mask that can duplicate and repeat perfectly a face over her own face. It is lightweight and almost completely unnoticeable, even to touch. While wearing this mask, agent May used wires to burn Agent 33’s face (she was using May’s face at the time) causing the mask to short out and stay fried on her face. She can’t remove it at all.

Where I am taking her from she has had someone fix it (thanks to Ward), so now she can use the mask properly, though she still can’t take it off. She is allowed to store up to 3 faces in the mask’s internal system, so she can alternate between those three faces or shut down the mask system and show her own very badly scarred face. When changing faces it is just the face that is changed, not the voice or her hair, so they will always have dark hair and Kara’s voice.

I understand that coming into the library will render her mask useless, though it doesn’t come off. She’ll have a scarred face while in the library and be able to use it while in portals outside of the library.

Other than this she has no superpowers. She is a well trained fighter in hand to hand and weapons, physically fit and fairly smart. She might not be up to the same level as someone like Romanoff but she can hold her own pretty well with Agent May.

Though this is not a POWER I would like to say that with the Faustus Brainwashing Method and the proper vocal code, someone can say the words and bring Kara back to compliance. Perhaps it will take a couple of times to say it, or perhaps she has to be in a very bad mental state, but I’d love to see what happens if someone uses it. That being said, there are very few who know the words to say it so this might not come into play at all, but I like the idea that it could happen. Those words are: ”Take a deep breath. Calm your mind. You know what is best. What is best is you comply. Compliance will be rewarded.” and with those words she will comply to that person's commands. I also believe she’s broken most of her programing as it is, so she would have to be in a bad place to fall back into it again, but I want to leave the option there for later plotting if needed.

Bookmark Description:
Nothing really special. Maybe just a standard issue looking Stark Tech style phone for a bookmark. Slim and translucent? You know the ultra thin, see through clear devices that Stark and some SHIELD people have. She wouldn’t have had one before, but she would know what it is and how to use it. A little tassel hanging off the top of it with a small golden mask trinket hangs off it.

Observation Deck - This link I am putting here more for my own refrence so I don’t lose it. It’s a pretty good review on the episode I am taking her from is all. That and I want the artwork near by :D

Kara has been through a lot just within the last year or so. We don’t know a lot about her before Whitehall got hold of her but it seems like she was a good, talented and loyal daughter of SHIELD, one that Coulson felt would be a good asset when he moved to rebuild the organization. He was looking for people who had been good and dedicated to bring back. People who he thought, without a doubt, would have been loyal to the right side.

She had in fact been loyal. When Bakshi captured her and brought her to Whitehall she had fought with them. Struggled against the brainwashing program and swore she would never betray SHIELD and that she would never work for HYDRA. Because of her fighting it took longer for the program to work on her, which tells me she was strong minded. A real good person so deep down that it took them longer to literally change her mind.

The brainwashing didn't take her past away, though it does give her problems when there are places of conflict. A mental turmoil inside that feels like her brain is bumping into walls when she tries to think one way and has been reprogrammed to think another way. The effect leads to her feeling very unsure about certain feelings and moods. About situations that she would have jumped right into and fixed but now has to struggle with to make the correct moral choice. Which ever that may be. It has left her a little broken in the end.

When under control of Whitehall she was happy to comply (which is actually what she said often enough, thanks brainwashing!). She wanted to protect him, to do a good job and take praise when it was given. A bit like a prize pet getting attention from it’s master. When other people let him down she stepped in to clean up the mess with ease. When Whitehall died she had no idea what to do. It was like she had failed her only reason in life and didn’t know if she needed to fight or give up. In this regard she showed deep emotions of pain and confusion, as well as anger at both Coulson and the Doctor (as one killed Whitehall and the other intended to).

In her confusion and distress she found Ward who told her she was free now, but even then she didn’t know what to do. After all she was trained to be loyal to Whitehall only. Helping Ward out ended up helping her, not only to give her direction but also to give her a chance again at life. She helped nurse him back to health once again and he helped give her her face back. In that time she picked up feelings for him.

She has more self control over her own feelings and desires, Ward made sure of that. She’s learning to be her own person again, but she still uses Ward as a bit of a crutch. Mostly because she wants to be with him, but thankfully that doesn’t rule her life. She has feelings enough for him that when her mask was fixed she morphed her face into that of Skye’s face, a bit of a manipulative move, but she did it because she thought it would make him happy. When it didn’t she got very embarrassed and frustrated, wanting to hide from him. She just wants to make him happy.

Almost to the point that Ward is the new Whitehall and that she is willing to do what he wants or orders, and yet there is a bit of independence and freedom there as she feels like she has a say so in somethings. When Ward says he’s going out to get her another surprise she tries to tell him to stop. She doesn’t need anything more and is uneasy because she can’t give him anything in return. He informs her it’s not about that and goes. Again, she’s embarrassed but almost glad. She just wants to be useful and wanted, but at least she has to guts to speak up and tell him to stop.

Her feelings on the mask. She hates it, but without it she’d be a horrible mess. The mask hides her face. Hides her scars. It gives her freedom to be whoever she wants to be (face wise at least). Now that it is fixed she’s growing to like it more because she can be pretty again. In all this she has grown a bit narcissistic when it comes to her face, mad that May ruined her to look like a monster and glad she can change it just by turning the mask on. She can, however, like with the scars. Being so strong willed she can manage, but if given the choice she will stick with someone else's face. Though Ward seems alright with her as Kara, so around him she leaves it down.

Since her brainwashing, Agent 33 has slowly grown into Kara, her own person. She’s bright, talented, fast witted, a little bit brash and a little bit snarky, but takes orders like a charm. She’s a strong woman who is looking for her place in a world again. “What else was I supposed to do? After Whitehall was killed I was just... lost.” She went from lost to stable, for the most part.

There was the incident with Closure, with Ward. The kidnapping of Bobbi and torture of the woman, actually. She was near the deep end at that point and made a horrible mistake that ended with Ward shooting her. I would like to bring her from this point and to the library as a second chance. I want her to get away and develop outside of the chaotic world that they know. Do something good. Try and be something good again. She can honestly BE something good, if given the chance. And if Ward is there, she can push him to do good as well. Honestly, all she wanted was a good place to rest and live out her days. Somewhere nice. Closure. She’s gotten that now, she feels, and she wants to try to make nice with this second chance.

She's hoping this place will be the place for her. She's dead back home, and here, maybe she (and if Ward is here) can do some good with out Coulson and SHIELD getting in the way. She's learned a lot... all too late.

First Person/Action brackets:

[It's an audio post for now, a young woman's voice, careful and guarded as she speaks.]

Hello? I've been wandering for hours now, following this... bird. It's got a long tail and wings like fire, but... how can that be? I know Fiction is a thing here, but it seems... Impossible. I know, I know, I come from a world where it seems nothing is impossible anymore, but even this seems far fetched.

Has anyone run into things like this before? We're here to... clean up the place, right? How do we capture a bird on fire?

[she pauses as she reads something, smiling as she does.] Not all those who wander are lost, it says. Fitting, for the moment. I've felt lost for such a long time before this, and now here I am, actually lost in the library and I don't feel... lost.

It's almost calming.

Third Person/Prose:
She had died.

She had died in the worst way possible. By the hand of her lover. She knows Ward didn't mean it. It was her own fault. She brought this on herself for paying attention to May's trick. And now she's dead.

Dead and... hearing calls for help. Whispers. A plea to come and help.... something.

When she wakes she eels whole again. She sits up and holds her hands over her belly, looking down in surprise, shock, really. This isn't... right. This isn't how things work, is it?

At first she thought this was her afterlife. And then the Librarians explained it to her. Or someone at the counter did at least. She asked if they could... could ask Ward to come along as well. To tell him Kara wanted him here. To bring him here so she could tell him. Anything. Get him away from there. Now that she was dead she realized how... sick they were. How messed up. This wasn't right. This wasn't how they should be. To do things the way they have was... wrong.

Wasn't it?

Or was she just upset to have died?

Honestly, she wanted this. Wanted to do some good again. She had so much anger inside though. She wanted to kick, to scream, to fight and yell. To hurt people, but... she wanted to help also. Why can't she have this? Someone needed help, and here? Here there was no SHIELD. There as no HYDRA, right? maybe... maybe she could be a new person here. Maybe she can do some good.

Kara, alone for now, wandered the Library, trying to learn everything about it. If this was the afterlife, she could at least be helpful. Maybe she can wait for her baby to follow, or she can just... she can do good here.

Maybe.
